When God calls us to serve Him, there is a price to pay...
Gospel for Asia - When God calls us to serve Him, there is a price to pay. I want to tell you about Ponnan, who followed Gods call into a war zone. This is K.P. Yohannan with Breaking News from Asia.
Ponnan lives in Sri Lanka. As a teenager, he gave his life to Jesus Christ, and the Lord called him to reach his own people. To tell you a little bit about Sri Lanka, you must know that for almost 20 years, there has been civil war. The rebels controlled part of northern Sri Lanka, and that is where God called Ponnan--to the borderland between the two armies.
The area is full of destroyed villages, damaged schools, and abandoned farms. It is a hopeless place. But Ponnan, full of the love of Jesus, was bringing them Good News. Unfortunately, anti-Christians began to oppose him. They hid weapons in his backyard and told the police he was a member of the rebels. And so the police put him in prison for an entire year. And when he was released, he did not go home, he went right back to preaching the Gospel. And today, the fruit of his sacrifice is a growing church, planted in a war zone.
